There are a lot of options for how to use these going into the 2016-2017 season (interest from many different types of prospects). If you get to play coach and you can only have 5-10 prospects that you are allowed to zero in on, how do use them and who do you give them to (assuming they will take the offer) for the 2016 or 2017 classes?

My guess the 4 goes to Jalen Hudson (Va. Tech transfer), Kyle Young, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Malik Williams.

We miss out on blue chip guys Wilkes and Scruggs, but if we get the above 4 I think it'll be a solid class

Hell, that would be an awesome class!

That would be far beyond "strong."

Concurring with some of my fellow posters, and using some Purdue lexicology......that kind of a class would definitely be a "Gas."

I think we should take those away from the basketball team and start an esports program with them. I have a neighbor hosting a foreign exchange student this year who just dominates at video games. When he's not at school, he's in my neighbor's basement gaming. His commitment is like nothing I've ever seen. Just every night and every weekend for months on end. He is being recruited to anchor Louisville's new esports program but his recruiting visit did not go well there. Apparently they tried to interrupt his gaming with parties and strippers so he is open to Purdue. We just need to let him live in the basement of some all-male dorm and let him take all his classes via video conferencing and he's as good as ours. I really think he has what it takes to get us to esports Final Fours and put us on the map as a cutting edge school that knows our video games!

At the risk of showing my age again, I'd apply for a "coaching" position if it were for Castle Wolfenstein, Quake, or DOOM.....and for the legacy division of Double Dragon II or Friday the 13th.

I'd have to "brush up" on the recruiting rules and do's/don'ts, though....or get a crash course.

don't know anything about Hudson...but like you I would be very happy with that class. Wilkes may be a long shot and Scruggs is probably no shot

I thought it was believed that Wilkes and Scruggs are both "no shot" for Purdue. Malik Williams is probably the best shot (I don't think the coaching change at Snider will affect that) and Jackson, Jr., Young, Eastern, and Goodwin are all toss-ups.

Would be a great class but highly doubtful because Jackson, Williams and Young will most likley play the same position in college.

Sounds great, but no way that class is happening unfortunately. I would think that Hudson is a good possibility, and then I would like to think that Purdue might be able to get one of the other three that you touted, with Williams the most likely...and even that being a tough get.

I still think that Purdue is trying to land someone in the '16 class with one of the scholarships, and another going to Hudson (if he wants it...but, he is going to be in a tough spot potentially to get much playing time when he is eligible the year after next, which will be a consideration certainly in his decision)...which would leave them with two known for '17, and a likely third in Swanigan's being available.

Williams is going to announce in August, so at least it will be known somewhat early in the process whether Purdue gets his commitment or not...and, if Swanigan does leave after next year, it will have a scholarship late in the process to use potentially.

I am hoping for Jalen Hudson or Nojel Eastern, Tillman, Jackson Jr and one other good player. If we hit the proverbial jackpot and also get Williams. I would put Tillman at the 5, Williams at the 4, Jackson Jr at the 3 and we will kick some serious butt ! !

I say Williams, Young, Spike, and hopefully Jackson.

Spike won't take a 2017 scholarship (assuming he plays next season and isn't granted a sixth year).

I think PaBoiler78 knows that: my original question was asking about fans' choices of players for the 2016 (or 2017) scholarships.
