Tough....tough way to go out, and I know he's probably blaming himself.

Wish we had you for more than this year, but thank you for your hard work, dedication, and leadership. You'll always be part of the Boilermaker family.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do......it was truly a pleasure to watch you play for the Old Gold & Black.

i'm sure he feels horrible. bad way to end. wish he had 1 more year. he is a great boiler.

I liked Jon. But yeah he did alligator those FT's. Hit that last 1 in regulation Purdue wins. Just fact. What freshman played well in that game on offense.

Yep. Glad we had him. He got us into the dance. Unfortunately he's a major reason we're no longer dancing. Hard way to end his career.

Yes sir, that guy is a warrior and will be hard to replace. Just an outstanding player.

I thought he was the MVP of the team this year. We would have been mid pack at best without him. Really scares me since I don't see anyone there to really replace him

V Edwards was solid all night IMO....didn't play like a frosh.....and that's with a couple of looks going in and out.

He just needs to learn to assert himself and take control at the right time. I'll be surprised if he's not all conference by the time he leaves. Maybe I'm being too much of a homer there.

Yep . . . Jon was a great addition and a true Boilermaker!

Thanks for showing our Freshmen how to show up and go to work!

A class act!

I get what you're saying, but our freshman were the first ones in the weight room this year. Ask Ray?

Wow really? That is outstanding. I wonder why Haas was so obviously gassed in this game?

I didn't notice that he was all that gassed, but if he was, I'm guessing 7'2" 300 pounds had something to do with it.

Thank you Jon!! Good luck in your future endeavors!!!!!!!!!! Boilermaker thru and thru.

Noticed it in the 1st half when he was getting all of the minutes and AJ had to sit with 2 fouls. He needs to work on his conditioning this off season for sure. He's really going to be a great Boiler I think.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that showed JO support this season. Even the critical comments were ok. Just shows you care. And everyone has an opinion. My boy showed poise and leadership coming into the Boiler family. I couldn't be more proud. Even when he didn't do his best. After sitting with him at the hotel last night, I have never seen him in that light. He will truly miss Boiler Ball and the family. Again, thank you for a great season Boiler Fans. It will never be forgotten. Much love. Boiler Up!!!!!

Thanks for raising what seems to be a great young man. He seems to have his head on straight and has a bright future (no matter what) ahead of him. Congrats and best wishes.

Thank you Jon for a great season! A true boiler in every way! Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Jon the Baptist, will go down as one of my top 10 favorite boilers ever and definitely one of the best dunks of all time. Will truly miss him

Your son will go down as a Boilermaker Favorite in the annals of Purdue Basketball. He exemplifies all that we want Purdue Basketball to be. Thank you for raising such an impressive young man....and thank him for us for giving Purdue his final year of his college basketball career.

Thanks Jon. You were the shot in the arm we needed at PG this year. You were a strong positive influence on the underclassmen this year, and that will carry forward into the future. I would even say you, along with Ray & a couple others, were the ones who brought back the kind of Boilermaker basketball attitude the school needs & expects from its team.

Best of luck to you, whatever you decide to do next.

Jon epitomizes Purdue basketball, and we are going to REALLY miss him next year. Heck of a young man.

MVP

I'll second all the fine comments above. Jon was an amazing addition and contributed to the team's progress both on the court and off, by all appearances. All the best in the future.

Jon - Thanks for being a Boilermaker! You were a lot of fun to watch. Wish you much success.

There were a lot of reasons for the loss. I really don't think one thing "outshines" another in terms of the turning point. Even with the missed FT's from Octeus in regulation and Davis in OT, Mathias missed a FT, Hammons missed a FT (kinda wanted him to get the ball on the final play of regulation: he's usually pretty clutch at the line), everyone that shot a 3PT was less than 50% on their attempts (4-26 for 15% is just plain bad), and they were 36% on FG's overall. 12 turnovers is maybe a little bit too high, but it's manageable if a team shoots better than they did.

Thank you for raising what seems to be a young man with a lot of integrity. I don't know if you ever followed Purdue basketball before this season, but his coming to Purdue is one of the main reasons (if not THE #1 reason) this season's team made the NCAA Tournament. He was the tempo setter for the team on offense, a tempo Purdue rarely played with the previous two seasons. This team needed a point guard that was a leader/high IQ player/hustler/athletic playmaker and he brought all of those things to the table, along with surprises, such as his great rebounding ability for his size. Many of us appreciate you posting here. I wish you and Jon well, along with the rest of your family and friends!

I felt I had to post in here to bring this thread back up toward the top of the threads.

Jon was the epitome of a leader this year. Coming in as a senior, knowing no one on the team, and still being able to be a leader shows exactly the type of character that he has.

I only wish Jon could have been a Boilermaker for more than this one short year. He really does embody the Boilermaker attitude.

I greatly appreciated Jon's effort this year, glad we had him, and enjoyed watching him play.
