i made my first trip to Huntington yesterday with a couple of buddies, one a Marshall grad. While I would have loved to have come home with a win, I came away very impressed with the hospitality Herd fans showed us.
I don't know how many times we were thanked for coming but it was a bunch. We probably ended up at a half dozen different tailgates and most were just from walking by and being invited over. Many, many free beers were consumed and we were well fed. After the tailgates ended, we headed to some bars and more hospitality ensued.
Parts of the night are a little fuzzy (15 hours of drinking will do that) but I think we hit about every bar in Huntington (Buddy's, Black Sheep, In Between, Fat Patty's, The Union, Hank's and St. Marks) and we were well received at each.
Thank you Herd Nation. You gained a new fan.
