Terrapins roll by Purdue (link)

That Coach V seems to think that we really competed in this game is sad. Yes, the players did not quit, but they were so completely overmatched that it is hard to see how they can be much more than mediocre. If we lost Perry for any significant time period it could get worse. Iowa is not Maryland but they are not Indiana either. I expect another blow out but hope that is wrong. I am not sure I remember a year when things looked this bleak this early.

Walt, you have to get realistic about the state of the wbb program. All I could think about last night was how bad we would have been if three members of the team we were olaying had not elected to transfer? That speaks to the poor level of recruiting by SV during most of her nine seasons. The glory days are over. Our on e proud wbb program has been allowed to decline and what you see is a team that is struggling to be able to finish in the top half of a very weak conference.

While I don't think the picture for wbb is as bleak as you make it out to be, one just has to look at Purdue athletics in general and realize that for the most part, no one high up at Purdue cares to be anything more than mediocre, so unless there are big changes at the top, this is what we're going to continue to have.

To Versyp's credit, I know there was an injury early on, and Moore has been suspended (although not a massive loss right now). But to give credit where it's due, she also got Bays to come to Purdue and has a highly rated class coming in next year.

I'm not surprised the team is struggling this year.... They lost a lot from last year.... Although I am surprised at some of the losses and how bad they have looked in them. Then again, I could say the same for most sports at Purdue these days.

You do know that Purdue wbb says SV's nine classes have all been ranked in the Top 25? If that is true, and we have added the Maryland transfers, don't you think not being able to make it past the Sweet Sixteen without players from the previous regime points to either poor recruiting, poor development or poor coaching?
