Is it me or do we have a team of superlative players?

Cline - "He's the best shooter I've ever been around," Purdue coach Matt Painter said.

Mathias - Best passer in the Painter era

Ray - Best leader

Swan - Best rebounder

Haas - Best size 22s (biggest)

AJ - Best ever shot blocker

-----------------------------

To be earned

Best scorer / red button - Etwaun. Can Vince earn the crown by the end of his Purdue career?

Best all-round player - Hummel/Etwaun. Can AJ/Vince/Swan earn this crown

Best defender - Would you rate Ray over Kramer already?

Best dunker - Barlow, Octeus or Smotherman

Best undersized PG - PJ has a shot, so far having a better start to his sophomore campaign than LJ

No, I wouldn't put Davis over Kramer in defense. I would probably say that Hammons is a better defensive player than JJ, although it's close.

You somehow missed the Big Dog from your comparisons. He was pretty much best everything, but acceptable to leave him off your list as he is incomparable (and very likely unsurpassable in my lifetime). It is like comparing best Bulls players to Jordan, something you really can't do with a straight face.

EDIT: Just realized this was about Painter's best, and Big Dog was a comtemporary of Painter's, not one of his players. There are possibly some all time Boiler best attributes on this team, not sure about all time position players though. Time will tell.

I know some of you detest the NBA, but this team has some Spurs-like tendencies in how they share the ball. The main goals seem to be for the betterment of the team as opposed to individuals. If those trends continue to progress, this team can beat anyone in the nation.
