Fair enough. I just haven't heard anything like that at all. He has a lot of playing time ahead of him and can't see him leaving and sitting out another year.
I also heard JT had an injury. Man, I have been waiting patiently for Taylor to get his shot - I hope he stays. It seems to me Carsen slides into the PG rotation as Johnny leaves, along with Grant getting some minutes. Basil slides in as Ray leaves, along with Kendall getting another shot. And Taylor slides in to get minutes as AJ leaves. It seems like JT has a great chance to get minutes and prove himself.

I don't get on here and just spout off about things I hear. Sometimes what I hear is right...sometimes not. I know a lot of people in places to hear things. I heard Swany going to MSU before he announced. My source was right, he did. Then, I heard word of some not so flattering things, that pointed to him coming here. I didn't get on here and spread the word, but he did come. A while back before the word was wildly rampant, I hear things about Painter...I made the mistake of posting them here and it was instantly censored. Since then, I've been careful about what I put here i the rumor department. What I posted was just that....talk. I hope in the end it's not true.
No offense, but Swanigan committing to MSU wasn't exactly going out on a limb. And there was a lot of chatter about him changing his commitment.
Passing along second-hand rumors from a single source is probably not a good idea, no matter the situation. Not saying they are right or wrong, but people like this are typically not right on everything (unless your "source" is one of the coaches). It's not about the things they're right about - but it only takes 1 time they're wrong that it can be a bad situation.
I totally get that and appreciate your candor. It would be very interesting to hear what the not so flattering things were (if you are able).
C'mon man. This board was rampant with speculation of him going to Cali or here also. My source accurately predicted MSU. And I posed it. My source just didn't predict the switch. LOL. It's all in fun really.
Yeah, the overall consensus was one of the 3, with MSU being the "safe" pick. To guess MSU was not exactly going out on a limb...
And also, not sure how having an "in" with the coaching staff was incredibly helpful, didn't sound like anyone knew what was going on outside of the Swanigan family for the most part (national recruiting insiders didn't really know either who have multiple connections).
Yes, the recruiting predictions are fun and rather harmless. Rumors about players leaving the team, etc. are not necessarily harmless and "fun" rumors, that's all I'm saying.
Don't go manipulating my comments and taking them out of context. I posted nowhere that a player rumored leaving the team is fun. You look desperate for trying to tie them together. I'd say your better than that lbodel. And, who has an "in" with the coaching staff? Not sure where you're going there. My source for the Swanie decision (but, nothing to do with the Taylor talk) was a B1G sports writer that I know. He gave me his prediction so I posted it. He was right and everyone who was sure he was heading to Cali, if I remember he had a function out west and that convinced many that meant Cali.

Still, so Taylor is just going to lose a year? He has already redshirted sitting out to transfer he wont get it back.
No way that's happening IMO unless there is something else pulling him away we don't know about. Haas can't play anything close to 40. Unless we bring in a stud transfer, Taylor has every opportunity to prove himself & play double digit minutes next year.
I can't speak for everyone in this thread other than deuce and badger but no one else has ever sad anything. Not on the free or premie board. He always looks engaged sitting on the bench. I just don't see it.
I'm not manipulating them. You say you hear things from sources - and gave one example. I never said you said a player rumored to be leaving is fun - but you said "It's all in fun really." in terms of posting speculation. How am I supposed to know if it was only about one subject vs. all the subjects?
Overall, I just think it's not worthwhile to post rumors. It may be true, it may not be - but I would think most reasonable people would think spreading them anonymously on internet message boards is not a positive. I hear a lot of things in my life but I don't go around telling everyone.
We've seen this message board go down rabbit holes in the past regarding transfer rumors, people being unhappy, etc. I don't know what good came out of any of it and certainly there was plenty of negative stuff to come of it. It's really not uncommon for things to get back to people - I hear complete BS about stuff that's not true that I've seen on message boards on here (i.e. the ball rack thing being TRUE) from normal people. If it's getting back to me from people I don't talk about this message board with, then it's probably getting back to people on the team.
I'm not really blaming you for being irresponsible, but there's plenty of irresponsible (and quite frankly, dumb) people that can't distinguish the difference between speculation/rumors and fact.
It's fine if you have your sources that you hear stuff from. But posting "I heard he's leaving. Just what I'm hearing." without expanding on it or backing it up with anything - I also wouldn't call responsible. Right now, you're just a mesh between both....ha.
yep...I have watched him all year. The little I know I really like him and think s he really likes the team. I'm sure he can see a freshman year of AJ and today and know it takes work, While we are on it. If you have a recording...after teh TO when Davis was called for a tie up with 8.2 seconds left...biggie is clearly frustrated as he walks away from the huddle prior to the break. Kid doesn't want any more games given away...

Biggie is a warrior. That is why he came to Purdue as well as it being the best scenario. he wanted to make a difference rather than just another player on a stacked team. he has the warrior mentality...and he could be in high school...
We have the luxury of four terrific 4-5 players -- A.J., Haas, Biggie, Evans -- plus Taylor, who's extremely promising but whose development we don't need to rush. He goes up against the aforementioned players in practice daily. I think he'll be more than ready when we need him next year.
