I was surprised we didn’t see him. His rebounding could halve eliminated some of their weak side second chances.
I've been saying for a while now that there are times you may have to play two bigs. I wonder if Taylor was hurting? Still, towards the end of the game it could have been two bigs playing at least on D, but apparently matt was more concerned with their three ball...while they were killing Purdue with two footers and offensive boardsI was saying it 7 mins into the game; his strengths are hustle and rebounding. Why let his 6’10 frame bang in there with Haarms/haas? Painter has to be willing to mix it up when the game plan isn’t working
It's time to get Wheeler/Eastern/Ewing PT. It's evident the downfall of this team as it stands is going to be the lack of athleticism and ability to rebound as well as get to the rim. No 2nd chance opportunities.
That lineup wouldn't score 5 points the entire game. Jacquil should get minutes. Painter is heartless to make him sit out after missing 3 years.
I'm not suggesting they all play at once together. Just mix them in. They couldn't do any worse than what we've seen since the WUG in terms of rebounding from our main guys. And i'm confident all 3 of those guys have way more upside than Cline, PJ and Eiffert. They just need minutes.
still zeroDidn't see tonight's game..
Did Jaquil get zero minutes PT again?
Is Ewing still not ready for much?
still zero
total minutes for the season:
eifert 81
eastern 75
taylor 34
Ewing 18
luce 12
While JT has been injured a lot, even when he was healthy during the past, he still didn’t play (even in garbage time he struggled to get in). That tells me that Painter thinks he’s not capable of doing what’s needed to help the team. I’m like others that think “hey, why not, maybe he’ll provide a spark”, but this notion that some here have that he’s a bonafide replacement for heavy minutes is just silly. There are a lot of JT fans around here, but he’s not the answer. That lineup wouldn't score 5 points the entire game. Jacquil should get minutes.
