Taylor and Spike update

In the pregame interview with Cliz yesterday, Coach Painter said he Taylor was a long way away and he didn't think he'd be back this year. Sucks for the kid.

On the Spike front, he said he hoped to start practicing again after the Christmas break.

Thanks for the update. Was just wondering yesterday how Spike was doing. Feel bad that he has missed so much of his last year already. Ditto for Taylor, but Taylor has a few years left.

I don't know for sure what the expectation levels were for Spike and Coach Painter when he was transferring in this season but I'd have to think that both sides were looking at the situation where we would expect very little and take whatever he could give with the issues he's had with his hips and surgeries.

The way I see it, if we can use him at the end of games to take care of the ball against pressure and hit free throws then he is providing us value. Maybe that's all we can get from him at this point but that's something. If he can give us more than that along the way then that's gravy I think.
