Swanigan commits to Purdue! - per 247 - see link

If anyone saw Dakich's rants last night, he never said Swanigan was committing or a done deal or anything besides "done". So I'll believe it once a Purdue guy reports it or Swanigan signs that LOI.
Definitely wait for the LOI. Even Swanigan announcing it won't get me excited. It needs to be in writing.

Dakich loves to have it both ways. He tweets: "Swanigan to Purdue is done". Then proceeds to tell everyone who thinks that means he's a done deal for Purdue is an idiot. Ok, Dakich, then what the hell did you mean by it then?? He probably doesn't know anything. He's just regurgitating the buzz that Swanigan is likely coming to Purdue and then leaving himself an opening so that if it doesn't happen he can still be right. Like I said, he likes to have it both ways so that he can be right no matter what happens.
I wonder what all is going on behind the scenes? There were quite a few interesting tweets last night that were almost immediately taken down. The Purdue Basketball twitter account (which is run by a member of the team re-tweeted a tweet that said Swanigan had committed to Purdue. Also, Ryan Cline welcomed Swanigan in a tweet. It will be an interesting day.
This was all a ploy by CMP. He purposely "planted" Swannigan to MSU just so he can steal him back because he was tired of some posters on here saying he not only can never land a 5*, but he never wins a recruiting battle against Izzo.
It's possible he meant Swanigan is visiting Purdue. I think he's doing what you're saying though, which is calling it early. The difference is I do believe Dakich knows things. Outside of guys employed in a basketball-related position, he's as close to an insider as you get, as far as Indiana HS circles go.
I think Swanigan is coming to Purdue, and I think Dakich did break it. I don't think he's backtracking his statements or trying to leave himself an out... rather, I think his more recent posts, are trying to rile up Purdue fans to spaz out and respond "but.. but... you said...", and it seems to be working. Just take one look at his Twitter feed.
I guess he doesn't want to have it both ways so he can be right. He wants to have it both ways so he can call as many people idiots as he can. lol
Niederupp (sorry for abusing the spelling) got ahold of Barnes last night, and it made it sound like he was surprised the cat was out of the bag and wanted to know where it was coming from. I think it's weird, because Rosie was hoping to have more control of the situation, but something got out and things got out of control. There are more forces here than just coaches, kids, guardians involved, and I'm sure some of them disagree and having the whirlwind last night probably didn't make it easy on him. I hope he comes here and I hope everything turns out well but at the end of the day I'm just excited he's not going to MSU. So really we win no matter what. If not us, Cal I hope... and not Kentucky.
