Some nice play down the stretch from the two "frosh," Mathias and Edwards.....great experience for them.
Agreed big time. And if Davis and JO don't end up being coaches someday, I'll be surprised.

Quick shout out to Penn State. That was one of the better first-day team performances I've seen in the B1G tournament in a while. Maybe not quite Illinois 1999, but a very solid three days of basketball nonetheless. Hope they get a call from the NIT committee on Sunday evening.

only four of their losses were double digits: two with Ohio State, @ Wisconsin, and then the "egg" laid @ Northwestern. And several of those other losses were really close calls, including the games with Purdue. I'd like to see them get a shot to keep playing somewhere.

Agreed. Newbill is a class act as well. I'd love for him to get to play a couple more games.

Early on in the Big Ten season, Purdue developed a reputation as a slow-starting/second half team. When they really hit their stride late January/February, Purdue kinda lost that issue. Now it's resurfaced a bit. Granted, today is a fairly unique situation having had a break, playing in a weird venue and playing a team on a run. However, Purdue's can't afford 10-15 minutes worth of bad play if they want to beat better teams.
