I took my two nephews to the game today, and we happened to sit right in front of Carsen Edwards' mom. I would have never known this, except she ended up buying popcorn for my two nephews out of the blue. She told my mom that she was from Houston and she was here seeing her son play, I spun around and said your son is Carsen? (very surprised obviously.) So I complimented her son on how much of a stud he is. She was very modest.
After he had scored 15 points I said wow he's looking like Derek Rose out there, again she was modest. A few plays later there was a rebounding play where Vincent and Carsen both rebounded the ball and neither would give it up. I related to her that I remember last year the time where Carsen yelled at Swanigan for doing the same thing to him (when the ball slipped out of bounds because of it). She replied by saying she remembered, but they are really good friends.
Remembering threads on here about who would be the first player to 30 points I thought, well, at 25 points with 13 to play Carsen will be first. I told her he will be first to 30 points, and she again modest said I don't know, but I said well he is at 25 points, and she's like oh wow he is thanks. Of course at this point up 65 points Painter takes the starters out and it never happens.
Upon leaving she gave my nephews Carsen Edwards cards. Definitely a pleasure to meet her.
On a side note, Hummel was doing his commenting, didn't hear any of it of course, but cool to see him there. I want to say I heard he is doing 50 big ten games, and also ESPN games.
