So, let's ponder this for a moment or three. Short stories are fun to read - so:
The Decommit Conundrum - A short Story
"I'm wolfing down a couple of Big Macs by my High School when it smacks me in the face that the coach who spent a couple of years recruiting me and who I really love won't be at the school I've committed to play at. He'll be somewhere else.
But I can't just tell his old school that I don't want to go there anymore because I really want to be around the guy that isn't there anymore. That's just not a good way to handle it.
My parents are in great health, so I can't use that excuse. II guess I'll just say I want to play closER to home. That keeps me a good guy and still accomplishes my goal.
Conundrum solved.

Now, this may or may not have ever happened to one of dozens of kids who have decommitted .... But it was fun to read!
