I've heard some good things from spring practice.

QBs are feeling good.

Jallow is looking good.

Robinson added bulk and is switching to DT.

And the defense may switch to a 3/4 and Bentley is looking good and healthy.

And on the recruiting front, Brohm is targeting and offering a lot of 4* talent and a lot of in state players. It would be nice to receive an early commitment to lead the next group of recruits.

Anybody go to the practice and want to add anything?

Did not attend any practices, but want to comment on the players and where Purdue seems to be.
Still at the bottom of the Big Ten and while Brohm is a great hire, it will be hard to find 5 wins next season.
Not getting 5 or more wins will be hard to sell seeing success and having 4* athletes commit to Purdue. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that 3* and development and getting a few good 4* character athletes will lead the way to the days of early Joe Tiller era where it was fun to be in the stadium regardless of outcomes. For the record, I have not attended any games during the Hazell era and that is the longest drought that I haven't seen Purdue football in person. I hope that we find early success and have 400-500 yard games early on...I really do. I'm still skeptical at this point that in year one, Purdue can find a way to win more than 3 games. 5 or more wins, then it was an outstanding hire beyond expectations.

Early on in a rebuild you see opportunity and progress. Wins will matter more in recruiting in year 3.

We need to go ape shit, hog wild in recuiting. Just go after the best kids and lay the pressure on them from Day One.

This Russ Yeast kid who went to bottom-feeder Louisville, Jesus H. Christ how depraved does it get? Something is wrong here.

Louisville is a better football program than Purdue. Bottom feeder?

it's a circle. winning attracts better recruits. better recruits create more wins. without wins, better recruits look elsewhere.

So how do you circumvent the wheel ? You cheat at recruiting - not a good thing for long term success.

you get a great recruiter - Is Brohm that guy who can sell and get elite players to commit? Is he even better than that guy who rows his boat? or that former Bears coach?

how did Tiller win? Tiller won by having an offense the other BIG 10 teams had not seen, and did not have the personnel or preparations to defend against. Eventually, his gimmick offense was no longer strange to his opponents. Can Brohm's air attack be something that will catch other BIG 10 defenses off guard like Tiller's offense did ?

Will our 3 / 4 defense catch other teams off guard, or is it out of lack of quality defensive linemen? that brings up another question. will we keep the 3 / 4 defense after this year ? or will we actively recruit better defensive tackles and revert back to the 4 / 3 next year ?

the other way to change our fortunes is to change our non conference schedule to include easier teams to beat. Before Hazell, playing MAC teams was a gimme victory. adding another BIG 10 game to our schedule made scheduling 4 easy wins a lot harder.

Simple fact. Louisville is better than us. As are many programs. We need to better apply or knowledge and resources to improve. Rather than looking at other programs, we need to look at ourselves
