I think I will go to Spring Game and see what team looks like. I gotta admit, I am hoping to see a better team. Looks like great weather, if the forecast holds.
Can we win?I think I will go to Spring Game and see what team looks like. I gotta admit, I am hoping to see a better team. Looks like great weather, if the forecast holds.
The same can be said for the upcoming season. Every win makes it less likely we'll see a coaching change. But in this game, if we win we still lose.
Lol! I don't think we will have to worry about too many wins this season..........three wins, maybe four tops! Not enough with a new AD coming in......The same can be said for the upcoming season. Every win makes it less likely we'll see a coaching change.
Would be good to meet a fellow BoilermakerI'll be there Saturday. Anyone want to meet up to introduce ourselves in the real world?
yeah, what's up with that? A bar in that area would be printing money, especially on game days. It could be 2 stories with a rooftop bar, and from the 2nd floor you could have a walking bridge across northwestern to Mackey and Ross Ade. That way you don't have drunken Boilers staggering out into traffic.Flag, I'll post on Friday about meeting up. Too bad that new strip across from Mackey doesn't have a bsr,

Thanks. I do think that would be a winner if they could make it happen. That is literally an amazing idea.
Thought there was a bar at one time between the bookstore and mad mushroom in that old strip (where burger King was, which had a small second floor too).
Didn't last long though.
Assumed not enough over 21s up there to keep it busy during off-game times.

yeah I want to see how the QB's do , plus the weather will be great, and I have some friends going that I don't see very often, should be a good day all the way around
yeah - as I told a co-worker the other day, we're great at kicking our own asses.Against our defense they better do well...the QB's always "look good" in the spring game, then they tank when they have to go against a Power 5 defense, which they obviously don't see in practice.
Can it be better? Could be 4 or 5? Schedule is a tad easier. 2 maybe 3 non-conf wins.......one, maybe 2 conf wins. Any givin' Saturday upsets can happen. Nobody will get "JACKED" up to play us this year(only IU)!!!!!!!! catch a team sleeping, anything is possible.I kind of feel this year could be better, just a few plays a game could make a big difference. If the receivers can hang on to the ball , that would be a great help.
How's the team look? The crowd? Couldn't ask for better weather!Sitting row 31 on 30 yard line on Purdue side if anyone wants to say hi, on North 30

We are now the 2016 Spring Football National Champs! Can we win?
It is never well attended. I think parking fillup was due to construction and the 5K cancer walk which had a big turnout. I would guesstimate? 12,000? Bear in mind maybe 30% of seats were unusable due to construction. South Endzone also locked down.Weather was great! When your team scores, your team has also given up a score, so . . . . . .
Having attended the spring games for many years (back to the 70's, this was the largest crowd that I remember. No parking spaces available in the FB parking lot!
Well back in my time 20+ years ago it used to be same day as Grand Prix, the band never came, no fan fest, no autograph session, and seemed to always rain. Spring games outside of Nebraska were nothing. I would say that the attendance is relative to program enthusiasm. Like recently, Hope's first spring was a nice crowd that shrunk after time. There were more people in 2013 than 2014, etc. The game itself at Purdue has always been bad football in that there very rarely is enough talent to split rosters. But whatever. I am pretty sure I saw a 3-9 Squad.I've been to spring games where there wasn't more than 3000...so saying 12k is a vast improvement. I think many people were curious about the new coordinators more than anything.
I didn't get a chance to go due to my ex-wife dumping my boys on me unexpectedly this morning though. When is the replay on BTN?
Please....what three teams can these guys beat?Well back in my time 20+ years ago it used to be same day as Grand Prix, the band never came, no fan fest, no autograph session, and seemed to always rain. I am optimistic. I think EKU for sure. I am hoping Nevada has jet lag. With the conference I think Illinois might have a one year window to beat them. Maybe Minnesota. I think we can win one conference game. We have talent in some spots, absolutely no depth.Please....what three teams can these guys beat?
Depth at RB and QB on offense and depth at LB but other than that it is comically thin. It seems more prospects are intrigued with Purdue and the new coordinators but the 2017 class I think will end up being the domino that finally find Hazell being fired. If he can get 4 wins, I think that would secure him another year if he has a good recruiting class. But another dead last class and it truly shows an inability to recruit. There are players on the roster that could play at the bigger programs but the issue is there isn't enough of them and there is no depth. Keeping players fresh is a key but it'll kill a team in the 4th quarter.I am optimistic. I think EKU for sure. I am hoping Nevada has jet lag. How on earth does winning 4 games earn another year? We're really setting the bar low...
(we fired Hope after his fourth year - after going to 2 bowl games!)
Have to agree with this...the bar needs to be 6 games. How on earth does winning 4 games earn another year? We're really setting the bar low...
