He's becoming a real basketball commentator. Saw part of the Minny-PSU game tonight and he and his partner said it was "a really good game!" If he can make that statement about that crap show and be belivable he's well on his way.
What do you think of Mr. Hummel in his first season as a color analyst for the BTN and ESPN networks?
Agree. How is a game with a score in the 90s, went to OT on a buzzer beater a crap show?Slightly off the off-topic, but I actually thought Minnesota showed a lot of resilience tonight. They wasted about a half-dozen chances to win it in regulation, but they kept showing grit. I keep expecting Penn State to make a move of some kind, but they just stay stuck in the middle of the pack.
IMO, Hummel has done fine. I actually find him surprisingly articulate for a first timer. He doesn't stumble, or ramble, or repeat himself trying to make a point, or change thoughts mid-sentence. He seems fairly polished from a public speaking perspective.
I believe Robbie is doing well in his first go round.Agree. How is a game with a score in the 90s, went to OT on a buzzer beater a crap show?
What did you say? (Drool.........)I believe Robbie is doing well in his first go round.

I know, I was shocked.
Isn't that pretty much a guaranteed result for anyone who makes in out of COM_114?I actually find him surprisingly articulate for a first timer. I think Rob will end up being a guy who does commentary for a very long time. Probably rarely gets the big time games because he isn't the character that Dakich, Dickie V, or a few of the other ones are...BUT he'll make a hell of a living for himself doing this and then probably running some camps in Indiana for a few years as well. From the few games I’ve heard Rob, I think he has actually settled in quite nicely and has been doing a great job.
