Lineup-wise, he did. I don't know if he changed a whole lot defensively, but they ended up getting more stops in the man-to-man.

Whatever he said at halftime appeared to lead to increased defensive intensity. A LOT more contested shots and hustle on D in 2nd half.

I know this won't be a popular sentiment, but it did look like Notre Dame's guys got a little bit worn down (moreso than they normally do) in the second half after that torrid pace they played with in the first half. However, that's no excusing the outcome. Purdue outplayed Notre Dame in the second half and played to win.
