tough to have that factor into what was a great basketball game.

They kind of screwed us with the clock at the end of regulation and they sure iced Duncan at the end there, but it sucked to see the Swanigan foul called there.

Hope you guys get in a groove in the NCAAs, would love to see you all make a run as long as you don't meet us again!

Right off the top of my head, I can only recall two times that Purdue lost its first game of the BTT and then made it to the 2nd weekend of the NCAA Tournament:

1999 - lost to Michigan, made the Sweet 16 as a #10 seed.

2000 - lost to Wisconsin, made the Elite 8 as a #6 seed.

You have the pieces, just need to trust your offense. I'm sure you know your team better than I do, but honestly, I thought Swanigan was too passive on offense late in the game. He needs to trust that he's a handful for anyone down low and stay with it. He may have let us off the hook down the stretch.

I think the refs gave both teams plenty to complain about today and either team that lost had a few things to point to. As a Michigan fan, I'm beyond pleased they could find a way to beat such a talented team as Purdue despite shooting horribly. I think this is the type of game that can help both teams in NCAA tourney preparation since they are each such horrible matchups for each other. Michigan won't see another team that has so much physical strength down low and Purdue won't face anybody else that can really stretch out their defense so much.

Ding Ding Ding! Everybody complains about how poor some teams are as a match up for us but never talk about the kind of mismatch we are going against nearly everybody else.

UM plaid a great game today. I prefer to think that they "won" this game, rather than we "lost" it. Good game!

I wouldn't go as far to say they played great. They missed some open 3's but we also missed some good looks and fts. I'm not sure either team deserved to win over the other one but they ended up with the W and that's all that matters at this point.

I'm sure fatigue played into some of that...

Thanks - our guys played their hearts out, even if it wasn't pretty.

I think Mo Wagner is not finding the shooting backdrop to his liking - he seems to be really struggling to line things up. We need him to figure that out or that's probably it for us.

You forgot to add and then lost to Wisconsin in 2000. This is Purdue you know. I think we swept them in the regular season however. : )

Also, I think we lost the first game of the 2010 B10 tournament to Minnesota just a week or so after Robbie Hummel's injury.

They made the Sweet 16 that year, too.

So I guess there is some precedent for recovering from an early exit in the B1G tourney.

That Minnesota debacle (trailed 37-11 at the half) was in the semis.....but yes, the Boilers can still make a run in the NCAA....even after a disappointment like today.
