Something to make note of in light of that report

It is not our intention to get in a we-said, they-said with another site here, but after the Cal site's report on Caleb Swanigan 'waiting for a spot to open' at Cal, we want to address.

The NCAA allows over-signs, so the notion that a school would put off a commitment from a McDonald's All-American in order to clear a scholarship spot has some holes in it. Caleb Swanigan is not even going to sign a letter-of-intent anyway, so you'd have 'til June enrollment time to get this sorted out and it's only a verbal commitment until then.

A school, even if it has 13 spots booked, can accept a commitment from any player at any time and it does not stand to reason to suggest if Swanigan were trying to go to Cal that Cal would not accept a commitment from him. It makes no sense.

Our sources within the hour say nothing has changed from what has been reported here ad nauseum and we are sticking to our guns that Cal will never have a consensus among those with influence here and it is simply not going to happen.

There is no rush here and in the absence of activity has come angst.

Our most recent intel reinforces most everything we've reported and the bottom line with it is simply to sit tight. There is no hurry here anymore now that the Michigan State part of this is in the rear-view mirror.

Additionally while it may be true that if this were a lead-pipe lock for Purdue, he MIGHT have committed already, the exact same can be said for Cal at the time of the first commitment. The factors that prevented Cal from being the initial choice haven't changed.

This is not us saying this will happen or that will happen. It's us saying nothing has happened and that, really, nothing is happening right now.
