Not a whole lot of stuff today. Rutgers isn't very interesting, for one thing. Haha.

Anyway ...

• Painter keeps saying that he believes Kendall Stephens will come out of it any day now, that he has told staff multiple times, "Next game is his game."

Stephens did make two of his last three threes at Minnesota to give Purdue a chance.

No issues with Stephens' hand.

"If (his hand) wasn't OK, it would affect his shooting in practice. It doesn't," Painter said.

• Twice now - the other game being Illinois (and to a lesser extent, Vandy) Purdue has fallen prey to runs that have just changed games on them.

"We've killed ourselves," Painter said.

Didn't chalk it up to anything specific beyond toughness, being strong with the ball, etc.

• Painter thought two of the four turnovers on Isaac Haas in the first half at Minnesota weren't egregious turnovers and the travel they called on him was "mind-boggling." Haas has played single-digit minutes the past two games and done nothing on offense, but Painter said he'd liked to have gotten him in in second half at Minnesota. Hammons has been playing so well, though.
