yards of total offense in an actual game, our Offense hasn't cracked the top 100 even in total YPG since our OC has been here and he still has a job?

I'm not a big fan of firing the HC before the year is over....but how has this clown John Shoop avoided being fired...or at the very least reassigned until the end of the year? I'm not going to go on a long rant about Burke or whoever....but at some point Hazell has to see the writing on the wall and try to save his job and career. Maybe?

Set up for a coordinator change at the end up the year instead of a change at the top

You can hope....but that said....who knows. This would have been a great time to make a coordinator change and set yourself up to potentially win 3 more games (NEB, ILL, IU). With no changes, we easily lose out.

Saturday's game plan was all Hazell.

I hope they fire everyone. But I still don't think it will happen

Doesn't matter, he approved it.

Did he though? I think Weird Beard gets way more leeway and autonomy than people on here think. Yes, at the end of the day it's Hazell's team and he's accountable for all of it...but I seriously doubt Hazell is oking and vetoing individual play calls as they come down from the god of 3 and outs on the headset from up high.

You are right, this would have been a great time to have someone else in charge of making the offensive plays. That way they get some time to practice with the bye week and can go at it come Nebraska game. Hazell doesn't want to do that though. I think it is going to cost him his job.

We have to stop guessing. DH2 is the Head Coach. Shoop is an Offensive Coordinator / Coach. Shoop reports to Hazell and is NOT co-equal with him. If the Offense fails, it is not Shoop's fault it is Hazell's fault. If the Defense or Special Teams fails... it is Darrell Hazell's responsibility.
If the concept that Shoop acts with autonomy then Hazell is the wrong man at head coach.

This 100%. Hazell is the head man. He can make adjustments at any point during the game. Lord knows he always has a few time outs to spare. He hired the coordinators and determines the philosophy they will operate under. Hazell is a loser plain and simple. He plays not to lose by too much versus do whatever you can to win.

Whats the basis of this statement? Did he step up and say it?
Specificallly, Just read any quote regarding the offense since the Minnesota debacle:

"Pare down the offense", "we need to run the ball so the wisconsin pass rushers can't pin their ears back", and something about taking away some of Blough's check to passes.

Generally, just look at his mentality the entire 3 years here, idiotic insistence on "establishing the run", "power running game" etc, trying to be Tressel but forgot to recruit like him.

And the fact that Shoop is still here, 3 years later.

Other programs use the bye week to make major coaching change announcements.
We take the occasion to announce the latest "lipstick on a pig" project.
Too little too late, Capt Morgan.
Don't fall for it boys and girls, don't fall for it....
