Slipping away (game story)

This will, far and away, be the worse team under Versyp. This was one of the most pathetic performances that I have seen the Boilers ever play. Yes I know we lost by 50 to an all-world Connecticuit team a few years back, but this was against a very poor Badger team which had just been destroyed by an Indiana team that we destroyed.
I don't think I have ever seen so many blown layups in a game. We must have had 30 chances to take the lead against a team we should have walloped.
This team is in a world of hurt and, as was said above, if you look at the schedule, it does not look like many more victories are there. Once unthinkable that this team could be in the NIT, it looks now like they will be lucky to make that.
Terribly disappointing. Just not a very good team at all and one has to wonder how long a committed fan base will tolerate the steep descent of a program that once was a national force and has always been a winning one which could compete.
Not as much of a free fall yet, but move over football program--you may have company.

I am still in shock. Wasn't expecting us to compete for the Big10 title, but this was the worst performance by the women's team that I've ever seen and I've been watching since the late '80's. They missed layups, free throws, defensive assignments, couldn't set effective screens, and just about every thing else that would guarantee a loss. I'm still wondering how they could look so good against Indiana, where they used great ball movement and effective shooting, and so bad against another second division team that they should have owned.

Time to get some former players in from the winning teams and have them explain to this team that a losing culture is not acceptable.

You're scraping bottom if you lose to a toilet streak of a team like Wisconsin at home.

This season has been difficult to take especially when I read the comments from people who were personally there to witness the performances. Grueling times even for the most dedicated and supportive fans here. Hopefully "better times" are an earmark very quickly.

What has happened to the highly touted Frosh class? Purdue is not getting much out of them at all, very disappointing!

Illini, do you think the loss of Camille Redmon (due to transfer) and Bridget Perry (due to injury) would have made a huge difference last night? Personally, I think it would have, but I'm still very disappointed with the effort last night.

Yes clearly the loss of Perry hurt and we could use Redmon and even Manuel, who would have been a senior, for sure. I think Bays and Clemens are just worn out and Thornton is active but not very skilled offensively. Bodnar got hurt too and Horrocks is just not ready. And the Davis suspension is troubling. Clearly Morrisette and Wilson have not replaced the firepower of Moses and KK. And Hamby tries hard but is not very skilled. Keys is going to be very good, but is just a frosh. So we are not a very deep team with some real shooting deficiencies and it is showing up big time. I am not sure how this team is going to do very well this year as, even defensively, they have some real holes. Those two bunny layups on in bounds last nite were unusual and troubling.
I am sure next year's class will have some impact, but the older players are not that good and so I think we may not see much improvement for two years if then, which will not set well at all with this experienced fan base. Yuk.
Experiencing the serious down turn in football and the back slide in men's BB, the women's team always used to be an annual boost. Not now at all.
This is the worst period for these 3 Purdue sports teams I can ever remember.

If you are watching tonight Do you still think Keys will be very good?
