Saturday, returning from Parke County (Turkey Run SP) my family and I stopped at Purdue for my first visit since the 90's. Parking in Ross-Ade parking lot (North End Zone) I was able to walk directly into the stadium. I went to get my daughter and upon re-entering, a massive man, also entering, introduced himself as Coach Johnson and, with a smile, shook my hand, and assured me the team is working on making Purdue a team we can be proud of.
I was too taken back by this kind gesture toward a strange man (me) he'd just randomly met. Of course, I had to rush home and look him up: Reggie Johnson and he coaches D-Line. Being me, I was too taken back to ask him anything, or get his pic, or introduce him to my daughter, about 30 yards behind. But Coach Johnson, if you are reading this, you have made yourself a lifelong fan. What a great representative of a fine university!
