Where is all the pregame build up and matchup discussions I saw before the Michigan game? Are we sleeping on this Minnesota game? Sure, they are missing a couple guys now, but the dudes who killed us (Mason, Murphy, Mcbrayer) last season IN MACKEY will be on the court tomorrow. Also, the same coach. Also, at their house. We talked about how Michigan was a bad matchup, but none of our guards could stop Minnesota's guards last year. Can the boys pull off two road wins in two difficult venues in one week? Sure. But I'm on upset alert..

I only slept a couple minutes. Besides, IU burned the Barn down last week. As long as no one falls off the edge of the court, should be ok.

BoilerUp!

Yeah, let's hope the guys aren't emotionally drained after that UM game. Watching Hass speak postgame I don't think they are. They talk about the Bahamas loss with such regret every chance they get I think that is still really fueling them to come out and play hard every night.

Another game that a 5th ranked team should win. But I don't think it will be easy. The Gophers will turn up the intensity after the beat down they got from the Wildcats. Plus, it's an 11AM start local time and that isn't good for this team. Still expect Purdue to win, but all conference road games are tough.

for the fans sure for the players IDK they have had a lot of time to prepare and its not like there is a big match up right after

On the one hand its a B10 game so shit can always go down

On the other Minnesota was the shallowest team in the conference before lynch and Coffey went down now they are playing some absolutely garbage players big minutes and looking really bad. Konate May be the worst starter in the B10. They really only have 3 good players on the roster. I suppose Mason and Murphy could pull it out but with their lack of size they do not match up well with us at all.

Its not the same as michigan which was like a 60/40 game in our favor

I like Purdue in this one. Completely overmatched , they won’t be able to burn us this year . If it’s a problem insert Haarms. Boilers by 10 plus

I agree pretty much......even without Lynch and Coffey, the Gophers have some players, and they are somewhat backed in a corner with the way things have gone lately. Life on the road in the Big Ten/Fourteen. Contain Mason, limit the turnovers, and stay relatively close on the glass, and the Boilers have an excellent shot to go home keeping the train rolling.

I think it can actually be harder for an opposing team on the road in a more subdued environment. An 11 am start can be sluggish for everyone - including fans.

Not letting Minnesota get off to a good start will be important.

This game has had me worried for some time even without Lynch playing. Might just be the stigma that surrounds our history there, but this just feels like a bad storm is brewing.

Minnesota lost one of the most important bench players (Eric Curry) in the off season due to an injury, then lost Lynch to his antics off the court...now with Coffey not playing as well, their starting lineup is now featuring something like three players who average 3 or less points. Minnesota has enough talent to compete but if Purdue plays with intensity for a full 40 minutes, likely Minnesota runs out of steam at some point while Purdue uses it's senior leadership to pull away.

Doesn’t really matter what hype the fans are giving it, as long as the team doesn’t take it lightly.

The point was not whether the players are taking it lightly, but whether we as fans are not appreciating the challenges the team is facing in this matchup as much as we were the previous game. Until the replies within this thread I saw more concern leading up to the Valpo game. No effect on actual outcome, just expectations.

It's gonna be 10am where I live. If it was a wolverine, I'd worry. A gopher, get yah a shovel and take care of business. If the boys shoot lights out, could get ugly early.
