Combined points of Davis, Edwards, and Swani. Still win big. Swani struggled mightily on offensive handles. We can really back off the one and done for awhile. The game was pretty ugly, hopefully it will be prettier today and we smoke Gators as well.

And the next day (game) that same group of 3 scores 44 points. Going to be a whole season of different players stepping up. Can't wait!

It truly is a luxury to have so many guys who can score. I think about most Purdue teams in the past... If a couple of our top guys got shut down or just couldn't hit shots, then we would probably lose, especially against good competition. On some teams the weight of expectations placed on those top guys (e.g. DJ Byrd his senior year) was so heavy it probably negatively affected their confidence and thus their play because underperforming led to losses. So far this year when some guys have bad nights others step up. I hope we can keep it going. Boiler Up!

DJ was always going to be such a better complementary player...same with Terone. They could have been so much better where they could blend in an offense rather than be leaned on so heavily. For any that follow the women's team, Rayburn was the same type of player. She would have been so much better on one of our teams from earlier years where there were 4-5 threats on the floor at the same time.

That's why it is important to build on the foundation we currently have. The timing of Biggie couldn't have been any better...a few years earlier or later and the chance of landing him would have gone down quite a bit imo. He doesn't need to be our savior...but rather given the space to thrive with what he does well and learn on the job the areas that need improvement.
