Six More Days And This Disaster Is Over

It ain't over 'til it's over and I don't even believe the fat lady's gonna sing.

Unfortunately we have yet to report the 14th ranked recruiting class in the BT with all of the bs that goes with such a poor performance. Wait until February.

And hopefully only 7 more shooping days at Purdue!
It is not over...it just goes on hold for a period of time, as recruiting (or lack of it more accurately) will continue and then it all starts back up again in the Spring with another debacle to begin in earnest again late next summer.

Absolutely right. This nightmare will not be over until there are changes made. It's always darkest until it gets pitch black.

I am really surprised you guys didn't win 5 or 6 this year with a legitimate shot at winning 8 next year.

You CAN'T be serious.

Oh wait-- you're one of those subway wanabees who's obsessed with Purdue; it's a given that you don't know much about football beyond Rockne-esque bullcrap folklore.

Carry on. ...

Is there a Basketball game on Saturday… recommend watching that instead of the Bucket game. Mitch Daniels / Morgan Burke… you two are becoming the most hated men in Purdue Fandom. It took quite a bit to wrestle that away from Bobby Knight, but you two have done it.

Mitch doesn't and shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Dunno why he keeps getting scapegoated. The university President shouldn't be making coaching decisions for the athletic program.

Does not Burke report to Daniels? If Burke is demonstrating his continued faults, the culpability flows upstream.

Let me tell you something - when you're the boss, you own it. Do you ever hear the CEOs of major companies blame the VP of Manufacturing or Marketing when things aren't going right fro a quality or sales perspective and they miss their numbers? NEVER. It's expected that when you are in charge, you deal with it.

President Truman would agree!

I think Mitch should fire every coach every week after every game because the fans said so!!!

I don't think Hazell is the answer for the program, but wanting blood of anybody that might have some relation to the football program is very, very silly.

Burke does need to be fired but a succession plan needs to be in place first. We need to identify our #1 target, land him and then transition Burke out. I imagine the wheels will start rolling on this soon to allow the next guy to hire the football coach next year.

A succession plan should have already been in place...his contract expires after next year, so that alone should have triggered some sort of preparations...his complete ineptitude and driving the football program to historical depths not seen before should have triggered them sooner...like say, the plan should already be in place and being acted upon.

So now you want to pull the liberal extremist bit...you've proved you are smarter than that.

Hazell has demonstrated he is not the answer for 3 years now, far longer than anyone else in that position would have been allowed to do.
Subtle team improvement are seen... no longer getting blown out by 30+ points every game, but after 3 years much more is required. Hazell recognizes this as he has benched quarterbacks each year he has been at Purdue.... So why is the Purdue AD not benching a coach who has won a total of 2 BTN games in 3 years? Why is Purdue not benching the AD who allows this type of "very very silly" behavior to continue?
Regarding transition plan. Transition plans are a good idea when the objective is to retain program continuity. In this case, I'm not sure retaining continuity with a 6 win / 30+ loss program is a good idea.

How do you know that Daniels didn't tell Burke that Hazell was not to be fired?
