Rip John Giles at the age of 71. One f the all time great "garage" bands and a group I saw twice as the opening act for bigger names. For those not familiar probably their biggest hit was "Centerfold".

I am old lol, took a date to Sha Na Na in fall of 73, did see J Geils also in Mackey , saw REO, Doobies, and Kansas in Elliott. You probably went to same concerts. I should have asked you when I stopped at your house during girls high school regionalsure, now you are making me feel older. I just remember facing where the team comes out on the court. YOU must REALLY be old!
I don't remember who opened for Mellencamp in Elliot, but it had to be 85 or before when I graduated. Purdue just beat IU that day and Mellencamp commented "eat your heart out Bobby Knight" playing to the crowd. That was before everyone apparently knew he was an IU shill.Saw The Firm and John Mellencamp in Elliot it the mid/late 80s. Don't remember J Giels being there or I probably would have gone...
I slept overnight at Elliot to get 4th row tickets and then couldn't hear for 2 days after the concert. It was in 1984 or 85. Can't remember the opening act and I don't remember the Knight comment. I do recall it was a really good concert. Also so Eddie Murphy at Elliott around that time. He was flat out awful...I don't remember who opened for Mellencamp in Elliot, but it had to be 85 or before when I graduated. I went to Flock of Seagulls in Elliot in 82-83, made it through 3-4 songs and said the Hell with that and walked out.
