And my old high school Northwestern on the big win over the defending Illinois 4A state champions yesterday in Chicago. They were only the second team to beat Maine West in the last 56 games. Layden is considered the favorite to win Indiana Miss Basketball this year and was named as a McDonald's All American candidate this week.

Layden is he real deal and getting her mom to come over as an assistant would be a coup to any new regime.

Locally they are pumping up the matchup between 4A #1 Northwestern vs. 3A #1 Benton Central. Northwestern will win that game by 50...at least.

Northwestern beat them by 22 in last year's 3A state title game and had to move up to 4A bedause they won two straight titles.
NU is arguably much better than they were last year. As a comparison, Harrison beat BC 62-58 earlier in the season (and HHS missed about 20 FT's) while NU just beat HHS 73-28. Granted, the NU game got sideways really quick for HHS...but this NU team has two and maybe 3 legit D1 talents on it and Layden is just 2 or 3 cuts above the rest in the state this year.

Absolutely agree. They remind me of Kokomo in 1992-94 in that they are almost untouchable.
