Should We Build a Bigger Stadium

They might have a point. You know all those fans from LA are going to want to check out the best of what southern Indiana has to offer!

they might make it an every year pilgrimage!

If they were to increase their stadium too much, it might be considered a toxic waste site with all of the increased goose pooh that would be generated.

The area that really needs to be increased is the place where kids and adults throw the football around when the game is decided after the first quarter.

Another great thread is their season prediction record…LMAO
Listening to Kevin and Query yesterday, and Jake said that he would set IUs win
total over/under at 7.5. Bowen was incredulous.

When Bowen asked, “Jake, who’s their quarterback?”, Query had no idea.

Then Jake went thru the schedule and mentioned Rutgers and Purdue as winnable games and Bowen pointed out that IU lost both those games by 30 plus last year.

Perhaps the 7.5 over/under was regarding the expectation for the BBall season?

How the hell does IU claim $62M in football revenue? What kind of monkey business accounting are they using?

I saw an article saying the B1G should consider retracting the bottom revenue generators and Purdue was below IU. Blew my damn mind considering #1 I've live in this state for most of my life and personally know like 1 or 2 actual IU football fans, and #2 their attendance, woof.

I thought it has been said, IU does some really funky things with their tickets and how they report so it makes them look better than reality. Or something like that.

Wait, do they want to build a 25k seat football stadium, so they can build a larger basketball arena, aka Mackey South?

now that would make perfect sense

That is actually a thread on the IU football web site.

Do they really expect that many more geese?
I was kicked off of their website a few years ago,so I went to the library and looked this thread up.They have currently discussed this for seven pages..Some of their fans are realistic and realize it would be crazy to expand their stadium, while others think it would be a great idea.

Surprised the board admins allowed that. They had to know it wasn't one of their fans visiting a library.

It is likely how they allocate their TV revenue.

Well, they did not have to deduct expenses for a Bowl game.

Don’t they also get subsidized by the State too?

That I don't know. I wouldn't think those subsidies would go to the athletic department, but if they do that money probably gets treated the same as the TV money.

And by that I mean football almost certainly has their biggest expense so it gets allocated the most funds. Men's basketball would be next so it would get the 2nd largest piece of the TV $ etc.

While I saw no reason for their larger stadium there were a number of IU posters who stated that they should fill the current empty seats before making more empty seats.

While this topic is comical, 3ven more comical was their season predictions including many picking IU to have 4-6 B10 wins including one over Purdue.

I paraphrase one quote, "I expect to win all games except against OSU."

Another said, 'we went 2-10 last year, we'll be lucky to have 4 wins."

I'm all for being optimistic but building new stadiums and hoping for 10-2 seasons won't fix their root causes. LEO!

IU wins 2019 Gator Bowl. This is another new thread on their board. Something to do with Tennessee vacating their wins from that year. You can’t make this stuff up guys, absolutely comical!! IU Football, the gift that keeps on giving!!

Crap now they'll have to figure out how to order bowl winner rings since they've never had to do that before.

Well, at least not since 1991. The comment about Tennessee vacating the Gator Bowl win is ridiculous and shows how little IU fans know about football. When a team has to vacate wins it means neither team officially won the game. 🙄🤭😵‍💫
