Considering the situation, I think he has done admirably...in my opinion, there is a reason they went with him instead of one of the coordinators....

I will just stick with the question...

The other side of the coin is if Parker wants to stay with a new coach. If he is interested and the new coach is interested, then sure, why not. My guess is a new coach will want his own people and the existing staff may want to work with someone they know.

Interesting for us is the guys brought in for just the year. I think it would be hard to find a guy better than Randy Melvin for example. Plus with only 9 months on the job he does not "stink" of the previous regime as much as someone who was on staff for all four years.

I think he's got a great future as a college coach. Rockne couldn't win with what he's been given. My feeling is if he's a fit somewhere let him stay. Don't handcuff our new coach though. We need a complete overhaul.

I like Parker, but he will have to go. As soon as a player doesn't like something he will go to Parker and drive a wedge between HC and team. Parker will get a new gig soon at great place. It is obvious he knows how to lead.

Agree here. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a HC gig at a place like UTSA or a smaller D1 school that is looking to a young coach to build something.

Honestly, if I'm Parker I leave to look for a HC job at a small program with some stability and try to build that resume for better things. He's already proven he at least understands recruiting having been in the recruiting coordinator position at Purdue. He's been an assistant as a position coach and coordinator at the same time. Filled in as head coach on a train that was destined to crash and burn and competed somewhat despite mounting injuries and zero roster depth. Either that or we bring in a seasoned head coach like Les Miles who might not want to coach too much longer but can right the ship all the while grooming a guy like Parker as a head coach in waiting. Highly doubt that scenario would ever unfold but I wouldn't mind seeing it happen.

No, clean house. Nutrition, S&C, coordinators and position coaches. There is nothing to be salvaged.
