Purdue's biggest weakness in the Tourney, as long as I have been watching them (since early 90's) has been shooting. Defense has always been fine/great, we just always struggle to score. For whatever reason, with a few exceptions, we can't get guys to "go off" in ":big games".
Something about our Coaches gets our guys all up tight, and they can't hit their shots in big games. Last night we saw that in spades. These guys tried hard sure, but for whatever reason, we can't get our guys to hit big shots in big games.
Look at what the Harris's said after Gary decided to go to MSU....something to the effect of "Izzo gets the most out of his guys". That's not something we can say here it seems. How is it we shoot 15% from 3? 4-26? That will go down as the worst performance of the tourney from distance no doubt.
The worst part is that Painter keeps repeating "We are a good shooting team". Oh really? Sure doesn't sound like it.
