SchianoYou guys should go after Schiano or Pelini. Schiano won big at Rutgers which is pretty much unbelievable and Pelini seems to win everywhere he goes. I'd go after Schiano with Pelini as my backup plan.
Schiano - yes. Pelini - no.You guys should go after Schiano or Pelini. Schiano won big at Rutgers which is pretty much unbelievable and Pelini seems to win everywhere he goes. I'd go after Schiano with Pelini as my backup plan.
Flat out not true. Schiano recruited the NYC/NJ/Philly area very well. He often flew into HS football fields on a helicopter when the teams were practicing. Novel idea and a lot of those kids were impressed.Don't want either one. Schiano couldn't recruit New Jersey at Rutgers - Purdue NEEDS a recruiter. If we are going for a retread: Miles or Briles
Ray Rice, Kenny Britt, and the McCourtys were all big time recruits from the NJ/NY metro area.Flat out not true. Schiano recruited the NYC/NJ/Philly area very well. Also, Schiano is 50. Miles is 63.
Then why didn't the bigger gigs snap him up when he was unemployed for two years after getting canned at Tampa Bay?Schiano has bigger gigs in mind.

Urban Meyer hired him off the street as DC and asst HC at Ohio State, arguably the top asst coaching job in college football. Just a hunch but I imagine Urban Meyer knows more about Schiano's coaching abilities than you do.than he isnt going anywhere. bad power 5 teams did not even want him last year
lol you dont even know what you are talking about. never said he was not a good coach or that he wouldnt be a good coach at purdue. another poster replied that he wouldnt take a job at purdue. said he was looking for a better job. i pointed out the the lower power 5 times did not want him last year. they will now but he is not getting a job at a elite school.Urban Meyer hired him off the street as DC and asst HC at Ohio State, arguably the top asst coaching job in college football.
