Shane Beamer

TBH this is not somebody I even considered. He was part of both Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley’s staffs when they took their respective jobs at Ga and Ok.

He took over a SC team that had gone 4-8 and 2-8 and he has gone 6-6 and 8-4 in his first two years. Imo this would be a surprisingly good get out of the SEC.

From where? Boiler Burner on Twitter? That account is full of.... well it's not facts or sources. He's the only one I see saying anything about it on Twitter. Plus why would he leave an SEC job?
Yes Boiler Burner.

And yeah, got to take with a grain of salt.

However, there is a tweet with the screenshot of a bunch of players that just started to follow Beamer.

Dang. Had my hopes up for a minute. Not sure why people randomly post names with no source. Oh well, back to waiting.

Looks like he was "only" making $2.75mil/year.

I don’t think the South Carolina fans are happy where things are now. Kind of looks like Fleck.

None of those are recent follows. So it's not like he started following all of our current players cause he's about to be hired. Those are people following him, not ones he follows.

He is from South Carolina. I doubt we flip recruits that far away.

Right. Look im not saying Beamer is out next coach. And I'm definitely not saying Boiler Burner knows what he's talking about. I did find it interesting that a lot of players were following Beamer. I dont follow Twitter, so maybe its common for players from other teams to follow coaches in other teams/conferences?

I live in SC and IMHO, Purdue is a similar job to USC but with potentially better resources (we call Univ of South Carolina "USC", not that school in CA) and more $.
- They're both competing against a bunch of conference behemoths in the college football world.
-They did beat Clemson and TN this year, but 2 good wins does not make a program (although it can make a coach....)
-I think Purdue has more of an identity than USC

Doesn't appear that way if all the reports are true and we're poised to hire Helton...

I live in North Carolina, and Clemson definitely overshadows SC down here, and I'd agree that, especially post-Spurrier, Purdue has a stronger regional identity.

I'd guess a lot of players follow coaches across the country. You could probably get a similar screenshot of players and media personalities from Purdue following Saban or any other coach.

This. I follow Twitter and any kid trying to get recruited follows almost any HC of a school they sends them any type of interest. It's a way for them to get in contact with a coach (or vice versa) if that school does start fully recruiting them.

Beamer hired Dowell Loggains as his new OC. Loggains was oc with the bears for 3 years, a real shit show. If he bring Loggains ..... I Passssssssss

Just don't anybody show Beamer Purdue's future non-conference schedules. Not exactly the gaggle of punching bags that SEC teams love. He'd be getting rid of Clemson, but ND comes back on our schedule from '24 until '28.

they're playing the domers in the Gator too

he's a QB guy and we're the Cradle of QB's
He's a 'QB guy' that had Trevor Lawrence as his QB. You and I could have coached Trevor and he'd still have been a #1 pick. He was an Andrew Luck type talent in HS. And DJ Uiagalelei has gotten worse every year under Streeter's coaching. A 5* regressed to the point of being benched for a freshman 5*. I wouldn't call him a QB guy. More like a guy who hangs out with the 5* QBs.

I'm not pimping him for our job, just looking at anything that could be linked to our to our search and the SC/Clemson tree. His dad was a coach and Streeter played 2 yrs at QB at Clemson.

I'm just making a point that we need to stay away from the Dabo coaching tree. Not alot of fruit has came from that tree.
