In case you missed them, here are excerpts from all four seniors' speeches. Johnny Hill's comment about A.J. Hammons was probably the funniest moment:

I believe this might be the full video of all the speeches. We'll see if you can access it: http://btn.com/2016/03/06/video-purdue-seniors-address-mackey-arena-crowd-on-senior-night/

There's 9 more games to play!

Boiler Up

Wish they would do everything before the game
I was there and I agree. Sunday night game finishing at 9:30 and then the ceremony starts. Way too many people leaving. Glad we stayed but there were many who didn't and that is not fair to the players.

it used to be before the game. i enjoy relaxing after the game. much more fun especially after a big win.

I think it's better to do after the game as well. As far as the complaint about people leaving, the game could have tipped off earlier on our Sunday! That would help, haha. I'm guessing that this was a tip time worked out with BTN within the last month.

Thanks for the links. One thing that was once again stands out is how much Ray has meant to this team both on and off the court. Coming from someone who has suggested his minutes be slightly trimmed, I acknowledge how important he has been to the culture and discipline in the locker room and beyond. You can tell there has just been so much more going on behind the scenes than most of us will ever hear about, and Ray has been there mentoring, leading, even keeping others out of trouble. Beyond his defense I really hope we have someone who can step into that leadership role in his absence.

I agree that it is "better" after the game. But in this case it was distracting and seemed kind of strange to see so many people leaving the arena when they were setting up and starting the ceremony.

I have been to many of the Senior days at PU and this one was the worst for people leaving. I know it was because of the late Sunday start, just didn't like it as well. Glad we stayed, just wish more would have.

How many "Senior" day finales have been Sunday night/evening tips? I would guess not that many, and as others have pointed out (to which I agree), that's the main problem here. It's unfortunate for the players, but hats off to the fans like Dry who stayed and showed their appreciation. Many of us would have liked to have been there as well.

I watched the full video yesterday, and all I can say is we have a genuinely kind and thoughtful set of seniors. They & the whole team seem to really appreciate and respect each other. Hard work is a cemented core value (thank you Ray!), but there is a place for playfulness as well. I hope they do themselves proud in the postseason. Boiler Up!
