I mean, he’s not wrong. We’re the first team to lost to a seed 13 or worse in 3 consecutive years. Not the side of history that we want to be on. The common denominator is we can’t perform when it matters. It’s a cultural issue at this point.
Yes, he’s wrong. Texas? The only games these idiots remember are the losses.

Are you saying a R32 game is more important than a S16 game? Because the comment was that the players don’t perform when it matters most. A sweet 16 game is unequivocally more important than a R32 game.
So the only game that matters is the one you lose?

I think this year proves that the first and second round games are very important.

Our players definitely play different when they are not the underdog those are the facts they just need to learn to play when they are the favorite and not lock up get tense under pressure

More faster, athletic basketball players that can drive and create their shot along with a couple a knockdown three point shooters is what we need! Unfortunately that goes against the Painter model!

These 2 Freshmen will bring alot of what Purdue was lacking to the table in terms of guys with size who can dribble and score in the paint. When FDU was trippling Zach and outside shooting was cold, you need a big wing to bully their 6'2 guys in the paint. Also when your 3rd pass on a press break can dribble and finish at the rim and not stand at the half court line, they will get out of press the 2nd or 3rd time they continue to make something happen.

If Zach comes back still need a PG transfer. If Zach leaves, add another athletic guard and hope Furst, Gillis, TKR, and Berg hold down the paint. I think that four will be fine.

Colvin highlights always make me happy. That guy is a human highlight film. I'm anticipating an Ivey type career for Colvin. Pretty good frosh year, and then be the man his soph year.

Really don't understand why Heide redshirted. i understand he had an injury his SR year and was probably a little behind the ball. But Waddell was coming off an ACL. You're telling me Waddell is better than Heide? Heide should have at least gotten Waddell's minutes early in the year if he was good to go.

Waddell had already redshirted and really didn’t play many meaningful minutes this season.

I'm pretty sure I read something where he had pins in his foot and was just cleared at the start of practice.

I think it was smart to RS Heide if that foot injury was a serious as it sounds. No need to rush him back and risk hurting that foot again IMO.

Okay, if the guys putting on dunking exhibitions during warm ups he better have been cleared to go. Also, he was cleared at the beginning of practice and played in the exhibition games

Either Heide isn't as good as we hope he is or Painter made a serious miscalculation in redshirting him.

Waddell played more than 10 minutes in 7 games this year including in games against Marquette, West Virginia, Minnesota and Hofstra. Why? After watching him play does anyone think that's what we need to make a final four run? Really?

It's not that we lost those games but why not give more minutes to guys like Newman, Jenkins or even let Heide play.

Painter can't help himself when he's got "team" guys like Morton and Waddell on the team. He continues to play them, while more talented guys sit on the bench.

Waddell basketball wise, IF that is his priority, can take 1 of 2 directions.

First he could transfer to a smaller school where he can get alot of starting minutes. This will help his development trajectory. He can always transfer back to Purdue the way these kids transfer these days.

Secondly, @ Purdue the opportunity is there for him too OR any of our guys really.....develop a constant 3 pt shot in the off season the way ZO did. Anybody that can hit a freakin 3 next year will play.

Agree. Or just be comfortable being the 11th, 12th or 13th guy. You can't have guys like him or Morton Starting for a Final Four Team. There was only one guy that started for a Sweet Sixteen Team that averaged under 4 point per game.

At Purdue we accept this as "normal". We say they are "glue guys". Its not normal.
Even Grady averaged 5.5 points (43% from 3) and 5 rebounds. That's a fairly low bar but a heck of a lot better than Morton.

Don't understand CMP's fascination with Morton? Perhaps he develops a three and is better next year? But I think, he is now, what he is. Good guy to practice against, but geez Purdue should be better than that when it comes to high minute guys. Too many valleys, with very few hills.

I don’t remember discussing anything about Texas. If I did I forgot. Either way, what about Texas?
Was the “money on the line” in that game? I.e How was it any less important than the North Texas, FDU or St Peters games?
