This isn't a post to make excuses but just an observation.
Seems to me the committee refuses to seed any major conference team lower than 10 or 11(Michigan was an 11 as was Gonzaga) regardless of there record or rpi or whatever. Therefore 12 and 13 seeds are left to those really good mid majors who in some cases are better than the mediocre power conference teams getting the 9, 10, 11 seeds. It's a possible explanation as to why upsets occur. For example in Kenpom Yale and Little Rock were ranked higher than 17 lower seeds. Or look at Oregon St 19-12 ot Texas Tech 19-13 , 7 and 8 seeds. I'd rather play them than a team with 26 or 29 wins and a chip on heir shoulder.
