Got an email yesterday from Morgue's minions that season tickets are officially on sale. I hope the ticket office server didn't crash with all the orders for those $69 per game "Prime" tickets flooding in at once.

They should change the name of that section from "Prime" to "Visitors".

The worst part is that I'm not even really upset anymore.... I just don't care about football as much.

I would think this type of mindset is the most dangerous place for a fanbase to be in.
Totally agree njm 8845!
Apathy/Indifference.......It`s that time when you realize the true damage that has been caused to the Purdue Brand.............

Can someone apply to the AD or the ticket sales office for the information on sales based on a Freedom of Information request? I'm guessing it won't be above 6k by the time the spring game rolls around.

Touche! Use to get excited when the winter thaw hit and a trip down for the spring scrimmage.........not even thinking about it..........don't care!!!!! As for tickets...............sales will be pathetic at best. Most will wait and buy single game tickets if the weather is nice and just want to make a road trip with friends to tailgate! Embarrassing at best this year when games are televised on the BIG Network and the stadium isn't even half full!

This. If I can find tix for less than $10 on stubhub, (or get them for free, preferably) AND it's a nice day, I MIGHT go to a game with my family, if it doesn't interfere with my kids' sports schedules.

Seriously, what is the plan to get people into the stadium? I really would seriously consider Groupon. Much more successful, much more entertaining acts like Hall and Oates, Weezer, James Taylor, and Heart have recently sold tickets on Groupon.

I believe they did a Groupon promo in 2014. What they ought to be doing is looking at a cool way to temporarily block out the majority of north end zone seats and tighten up supply.

I felt sorry for the poor sole that had to create and send that email. Everyone knows ticket sales are going to be pathetic this year. A new low for Purdue football.

I'm glad more of the soccer mommie types stay away from the games these days. Get tired of them yelling throw da bomb & blitz every other play!

Are the ticket sales starting early this year?? Seems that it has always been in March in the past. Wonder if they are trying to get a jump on sales.

Yes, if you average 3 ticket sales a day, you can sell an additional 42 tickets by starting on February 16th instead of March 1. Another brilliant strategy by Morgue.
Do you really think they can sell three per day?If they do,I will be surprised.

How about some new Beyoncé inspired gold duster outfits? Just sayin.. couldn't hurt ticket sales.

Great year to buy tickets to Purdue football....choice of great seats available, no traffic problems into or out of the tailgates, no huge lines to restrooms or concession stands, and you get to see some pretty good teams play. And if you get really lucky, you might even see the Boilers score a touchdown.:D

I think what they should do is get some students wearing sandwich boards selling tickets for five bucks apiece during basketball games at Mackey, sort of like they do during concerts at White River.

Au contraire on the lack of lines at concessions stands - since we only open about 1/3 of them on game day, the lines are still ridiculously long.
Restrooms not so much....
Of course they will still manage to run out of water in the concession stands by half time of the first game of the season when it's in the 90s.

I've got it: cover the seats with tarps that are digitally printed with images of Purdue football fans. Or maybe get a 3D printer and print life size Purdue football fan replicas. (They wouldn't boo Morgue!)

You could even pipe in fake crowd noise thru speakers in that area.

I think that is what Illinois has done in the recent past with their second level of seats across from their pressbox.

I am pissed that Purdue wasn't able to get Whitman as I think he is the type of AD Purdue truly needs to be in a position to regain the strength the power sports had in the mid to late 90's.

Much like everything else right now in the AD, I'm in a wait and see mood. I'll her an even keel and call like I see when it comes down the pipeline.

Burke should contact Universal Studios' surplus department. When they were filming the movie "Seabiscuit" at Lexington's Keeneland racecourse, they had about 9,000 blowup people tied to seats to augment all the extras in the stands to make it look like a sellout.

Just 9,000? We will need about 4 times that many, but that's a good start.

Oh, forgot to mention...all were painted wearing Great Depression-era clothing...should fit right in with the rest of our fans' psyches....
