This game sure took the wind out of our sails. I hope this doesn't affect ticket sales next year or our momentum in recruiting. Do you think this will affect Bell's final decision?

It is one game, hopefully it won't have a negative effect. Doubt it will hurt ticket sales much. The fan base is pretty excited about next years recruiting class. Purdue's offense is going to be electric in the years to come especially with recruits like Moore, Wright, Rice and hopefully Bell.

Purdue thought they had momentum coming into 2018 after the strong finish in 2017.Then they started 0 and 3,as we all know.I doubt if Bells decision hinged on this game, and ticket sales will increase next year. This loss will never be forgotten, but the program has come far in two years.Boiler up!.

This year, Purdue was essentially the Rondale Moore show. Next year, Purdue adds GK, Grant, Faucheux, Graham, Craig, EB, Jornigan, King, and several other WRs (including likely adding Bell) that could all contribute right away. Purdue’s overall talent and depth will be significantly better next year. GK will be worth the price of admission by himself, but don’t be shocked if sveral ‘19 players become fan favorites quickly. Purdue gets bigger and faster at CB, bigger/faster/stronger on safety, better on the DL (especially with pass rush), and having more weapons on offense will mean the defense can’t just sell out on Moore.

This game was also kind of misleading. Majors for Cason was a huuuuuge step down. Neal for Geo on the interior was a big step back and caused a step back on the end to replace Geo. Next year Purdue will be much better and deeper, but even then, will likely need another year to be able to consistently compete against better talent. Auburn underachieved all year and played like they had something to lose. Purdue couldn’t stop the run so they had to sell out on the run and got crushed by the pass and misdirection. Auburn didn’t punt until the third quarter. Every other drive before that was a touchdown including a pick six. Purdue will be fine, but Auburn was a national recruiting powerhouse and Purdue was loaded with an average class in the 50’s-60’s. I give credit to Auburn. They exploited Purdue’s obvious weaknesses and took advantage of being bigger/stronger/faster at every position.
