Scandal, Auburn and Ronnie Johnson

So it turns out that Ronnie Johnson finished his career at Auburn, where his cousin was the Auburn associate head coach Chuck Person amongst those charged with corruption yesterday.

Plain and simple, Ronnie took advice from the wrong people and went against a clean coach like Painter. So instead of playing out his senior season as BIG champs and a Sweet 16 berth, he flamed out with no postseason, no pro prospects, and graduating from a disgraced program (Auburn basketball even began offering full refunds to fans who already paid for season passes for this fall)

If there was any doubt, Painter is completely vindicated in the Ronnie Johnson episode. Ainters should acknowledge they got it wrong. None of those who walked out on Purdue went on to accomplish anything meaningful with their careers - RJ, little AJ, Hale, Lawson, Scott,

We weren't winning anything with him as our PG anyway. At least not as the player we all saw when he was here. No coincidence we've made the NCAA tournament 9 of the past 11 season with the 2 we missed being when he was our point guard. Immature, selfish, overrated player.
