Say what you will about him...

curious about your "say what you will" comment re SVP. I've always been a huge fan and he's always been classy/respectful of our program. One of the few good ones left at ESPN.

I wouldn't read too much into it being directed to SVP.

ESPN in general, though, has been a target on this forum (by me, as well as others), and rightfully so.

That's another conversation for another day. Tyler deserves to be the focus of this thread.

I agree, that was an incredibly classy move by SVP, and ESPN.

Agree regarding ESPN. I've been among the first to criticize their tabloid ways but the attention they brought to the Tyler Trent story was a refreshing reminder of both what a tremendous platform they still have and how they can utilize it for good.

As for SVP, I've never seen anything but class from him. This just elevated my already-high opinion of him.

I’ve nothing bad to say about SVP, but I know there are always contrarians and of course ESPN detractors (sometimes I myself am). I can’t recall anyone going on a rant about SVP, but I guess I was just hedging in case someone came out of the woodwork.

He's always seemed to like Purdue imo. I remember he featured luce on his "hardest worker" segment or whatever it's called that he does at the end of his show.
