New coordinator is going to play the safeties more traditional, for example strong safety in the box. Whereas prior coordinator used essentially strong safety as another corner (playing over Slot). That is why you had Ricardo Allen, Frankie Williams, and Leroy Clark playing strong safety in consecutive years. Will be interesting to see what other changes he will make.
Makes sense Bc he has the experience and they really do not have depth. Brandon Roberts was also a converted corner don't know if he would be a candidate Bc they would be thining out the depth at safety. You have Robert Gregory, Brandon Roberts, Austin Logan, Andy Clef (who tore his ACL mid season), and the JUCO guy coming in. Austin Logan redshirted last year so he has two years left.
