What position coach is the happiest following signing day AND the early portal commits;

QB/B. Brohm: Yes only got one commit, but what a commit in Brady Allen. Easily one of the best QBs in the state. 6’5”, accurate and mobile. With AOC coming back can redshirt and learn

RB/Barclay: Add bruiser Kentral Marks, along with utility weapon Terrance Thomas. Add in Sampson James and the running back room goes from empty to full.

WR/ Shepard: Gets two new commits in Steptoe and Deville (who Purdue liked over in state Cooper) to develop, but just added a 6’4” wide out from Auburn via the portal in Elijah Canion.

TE/Williams: Added two freshman that will need time to develop, but with all TEs returning

OL /Callaway and Williams: Added five new freshman who all should be able to redshirt and got a possible Witt replacement in portal addition Finau from

DL/Hagen; My pick for best pick ups. Gets the top DE on the board (Strickland) and top LEO on the board (Caraway). Adds a nice DT project in Deeter as well.

LB/Lambert; Moon and Pitre are it, but with a overfilled position room already, both will probably redshirt.

DB/ Adams and English; Two from the portal in Hampton and Denson and two high school guys with NFL bloodlines in Jefferson and Buchanon.

ST/ Biagi: Got a TE sized kicker as a PWO

Two updates;

-Forgot the local DT who is a Deen clone.

-Got a WR portal guy in for Iowa WR Tracy

You mentioned 5 OL. What’s going on with Liston?

I think the secondary is the biggest winner. Two experienced transfers plus two players with NFL dads. Much needed and I wish they could play in the bowl game!

Biggest loser? WR. I’m very confused about the last two classes. After landing multiple high end guys in the first several years of the program, and 2 All-Americans in 4 seasons, and with Shephard’s personality, I thought he would be fishing for some really big fish. The Auburn transfer seems like a great pickup. I wonder if that means Rice is done.

Questionable: why two tight ends? There’s 6 on scholarship already…

Barclay has continually landed good prospects and walk-ons, but keeping them has been the problem. With the transfer coming in, I wonder if King is done.

The gem is Brady Allen. Loves Purdue through and through. Checks all the boxes. Really needed after last years decommitment. As we already know, good QB play makes a world of difference in college, especially for Purdue. Purdue is set up well with Alaimo and Allen.

Noticed James is no longer listed as a transfer on 24/7. Does anyone know if he is still part of the team?

I believe there's a chance that one of the new TE's may opt to play baseball
