Most talking heads in the college football landscape think our job is crap. My how we have fallen.

I've finally taken off my blurry rose colored glasses and i'm starting to see the steam coming from the stinch of what I thought was a football program that had a chance to bounce back.

It is not just talking heads though...and, if anyone (including those on here that are fans of the program) really looks at it for what it is, it is pretty much a crap job at this point...arguably the worst in the B1G, and one of the worst in the country...I had said it before, early in the search process when names were being tossed around...in some cases (and for some of those guys), not coaching was a better option than taking the Purdue job, or, staying where they were might be better for them (short- and long-term) than taking the Purdue job.

It is a major rebuild...and, it simply could be too daunting for some and it could be a career killer as a result.

Burke ruins athletics at Purdue. Thanks Morgan.

And he got paid handsomely while doing it. He, along with the president, provost, and one other position I don't recall, have a special retirement package. They are the only ones not on the same retirement package as all the other faculty and administration.

The job Burke did on our athletic department is amazing. He stayed in the black by cutting cost so much the product became crap. Revenue sports stink. Non-revenue sports stink even when we offer the bare minimum number to be D1. No soccer, no lacrosse, no hockey. I am a second generation Purdue graduate. Much of my family are Purdue graduates and I have been cheering for Purdue since I can first remember in the mid-1960's. I don't cheer for anyone else but I find myself less and less interested in watching Purdue sports as they drift from mediocre to terrible. I watch HS games in FL with more D1 athletes on the field than the entire Purdue team. Wouldn't be surprised if we get dumped from the BIG in my lifetime. Hope MB2 has the energy to turn it around but I fear he is just more of the same. Damn shame we don't have an athletic department the caliber of our academics.

Us common folk just don't have the aptitude to understand Morgue's Master Plan.

There is a group of people and leaders that allowed Burke to function. I blame them more than Burke.

Specifically - Daniels and his "I don't want to get into an arms race". Well welcome to not participating in the arms race.

We can't even get a freaking interview

Hopefully Bobinksi has something up his sleeve.
