First off - I appreciate Bobinski and trustees continuing the evolution of Ross Ade. Also indicating there will be another phase (probably much larger) after the south end zone plan is complete. (10 win season would certainly bolster the budget)
With that said I suspect the improvements will be modest (esp with cost growth factored in - -- LGB).
End zone projects are very popular these days and several comps calibrate what we can expect.
Im sure it will have some fun features (walk way, lots of brick, arches... Hey how about a train?). - luxury (clubs, seating,) won't be in the budget. I'm sure nice concrete/brick facade seating so a big notch above bleachers. Probably the confusion over student seating comment - - - good enough for students but not premium seating/clubs. Hopefully the design would allow for future enhancements.
Albeit not perfect apples to apples, several comps provide calibration into expectations. All 2-3X (or even 5X) our budget. You can see this will be modest (especially compared to "$30M vision which now costs $45M). We do have benefit of already having $10M ($15M today $s?) video board. However the budget also needs to cover dining plus tunnel so take at least $5M to $10M to cover those areas
Wisconsin Camp Randall. End Zone $77.6M.
