He's just a sophomore playing for Heritage Christian in Indy. He was nominated for Player of the Week in December, but I don't see much else. He comes from good Boiler bloodlines.

Myles Colvin, Heritage Christian
The 6-3 sophomore had 29 points and eight rebounds in an 82-71 victory over Cardinal Ritter on Friday in the Eagles’ season-opening win. Colvin was 8-for-12 from the field and 11-for-14 from the free-throw line in the win.

I have some buddies pretty connected to that program. I’ll have to get their take on Myles. Hope he has his old mans first step.

Hard worker, largely in part because of his Dad...and he is a solid player. Rosevelt's daughter, Raven, will be on the volleyball team at Purdue next fall.

Rosevelt himself was an underrated basketball player...he made the right choice certainly with football, but, he had some basketball skills as well.

That's great news. If dad had no qualms about sending Raven to Purdue, Painter may have a leg up on recruiting Myles. In the video I have seen, he looks solid. Not rail-thin like most sophomore guards. At 6-3 or 6-4, he may still be growing.

Raven has been a verbal commit since she was a Freshman. I remember Rosevelt saying something to the effect that he told his daughter she could go anywhere she wanted to, as long as it was Purdue. It would be hard to imagine Painter not having a leg up.

Grandson was playing up 3 years this summer and played against him . I know he lit us up but didn't give it much weight as 4 of our 8 players we playing up . We were just trying to honor our commitment to the tourney . Even their fans were cheering us on . Didn't help .

Myles came in at #11 in the linked article ranking the top 20 sophomores in the state of Indiana.

If he ends up being a top prospect, great. If not, Painter has a good program with preferred walk ons if Purdue is his dream school.
He is definitely a prospect...and, quickly becoming a top one at that.

I am blessed to have known Rosevelt way back to his HS days, and, have already professed that he indeed was a very talented basketball player in addition to his tremendous football skills, and, he is as good a person as there is.

I have been blessed as well to have been around his children at times and watch them in their athletic endeavors...some talented individuals, and, like their Mom and Dad, great kids as well.

I have no idea what will ultimately happen with Myles, but, I have seen him grow (literally, and figuratively) as a basketball player, and, the article here mentions it....and I alluded to it in a post above in having witnessed it...it is in part due to his Dad. He seems to have a future in basketball...and, perhaps a very bright one. I remember my son having a game one night, and, Rosevelt being there while Myles ran suicides (along the sideline of the court while my son's game was going on)...I went down to talk to him, and, he told me that Myles had failed to meet the time requirement during practice that evening for his AAU team, and, that while his coach and teammates had left, Rosevelt was making Myles continue (and he did it multiple times, much to his dismay) until he met the time requirement.

As a class of 2023 kid, he might be a nice replacement for IT.

Great for Myles, and, for the family...

Rosevelt is as good a person as there is, and, as good an ambassador as there is for Purdue as well.

Impressive to see the progress that Myles has made, and, given it...and his work ethic and desire to succeed, his brightest days are still ahead...might as well be in a Purdue uniform.

I believe that Myles' sister is in the latest Purdue volleyball recruiting class isn't she? You're right, their father and mother are both good people.

I took an IQ test and the results were inconclusive

Saw Rosey coaching Myles and his team at the Incrediplex (RIP) a few years back. Not surprised that Myles has developed like he has.
