basically said couldn't keep 7 pledges and the lone 4 star is on hold after winning the West. Somewhat unfair due to the short time Walters had.
We’ll see how Walters does in the transfer portal but you can’t really find fault with this right now; Purdue lost who they lost late & signed so far who they signed…basically said couldn't keep 7 pledges and the lone 4 star is on hold after winning the West. Somewhat unfair due to the short time Walters had.
This year’s class was not an awesome class before Walters arrived. I don’t blame Walters. But I do believe Rivals provided a correct rating for what the class is. Regardless of the coach, this class was not great. When you subtract 7 players, the ranking will definitely decrease! This class was only marginal before Brohm left so it could only get worse. Brohm wasn't a great recruiter and it shows.
I am not too concerned right now. I'd rather Walters take his time to put a good staff together and see what he has on the roster then hit the portal hard to fill the gaps. That's preferrable to him signing Brohms recruits just to fill a class.basically said couldn't keep 7 pledges and the lone 4 star is on hold after winning the West. 2024 is his first true
Those are the exact words people said about Hazell and Brohm. The people he signed are the people who wanted to play for him. The people who decommited are people who didn’t want to play for him. He also went to Texas for a couple of days. I doubt he was looking for a coach. So basically he recruited this entire class!
I don't recall. Hazell was 10 years ago and Brohm was 6. Either way, those supposed statements are irrelevant. Those are the exact words people said about Hazell and Brohm. yea, I didn't think he was a great recruiter neither. Looking at what's going on at L'Ville, don't know if that's an indictment on Brohm or Purdue. This class was only marginal before Brohm left so it could only get worse. Brohm wasn't a great recruiter and it shows.
UL has a much better NIL program. Satterfield had a top 15 class before he left and they didn't even like Satterfield in UL.yea, I didn't think he was a great recruiter neither. Looking at what's going on at L'Ville, don't know if that's an indictment on Brohm or Purdue.
The posts are in the archives of this forum. It will take you 10 minutes to look them up! Look for a poster named Wolegib!I don't recall. Hazell was 10 years ago and Brohm was 6. Either way, those supposed statements are irrelevant.
I remember the bad things and the good and the facts from 10 years ago. But I'm not going to care what decade-old message board posts say. You can if you want. But just because it was posted here doesn't make it fact. That's is a fallacy of yours. The posts are in the archives of this forum. It will take you 10 minutes to look them up! Posters are constantly talking about players and coaches of the past. If you can’t look back 10 years ago, then you can not learn from the past!
It’s funny people remember the great things from 10 years ago, but not the bad things or the facts!
Hazell actually added players to the amount of players hope recruited. Hazell was also hired in December. He also flipped a player.
But the facts remain, the players who signed are the players who wanted to play for Walters. It’s funny the people at Louisville are calling this year as Brohm’s first class. I guess it’s different for Louisville than Purdue!
And only about six of those guys in DH2s first class contributed ANYTHING to Purdue football.Walters first class here may be small right now but I think He will add a few more players to it and perhaps more than six of them will be good players. To be honest for those that can’t remember, Hazell kept all of his previous commitments made to hope and added 6 additional players
Exactly. Shepherd getting all those WR made Brohm look much better at recruiting. Once he left the talent stream at WR stopped. George was a layup too. This class was only marginal before Brohm left so it could only get worse. Brohm wasn't a great recruiter and it shows.
No guarantees that we can actually sign anything more than bodies…If the portal wasn't a thing, I'd be a lot more concerned right now.
No he didn’t. He lost a few dl that ended up at other fbs programsTo be honest for those that can’t remember, Hazell kept all of his previous commitments made to hope and added 6 additional players
Portal doesn't help if you don't have the cash to pay them. Players are entering the portal hoping for a payday. The days of players playing for an education or to represent a school are long gone.Grade seems about right, but in this day and age in order to sign a top class you gotta pay up or put in a lot of time. We were in the position to do neither this year. Luckily in this day and age the portal makes it easier to reload in other ways.
Walters had little time to recruit. Hazell and Brohm didn't have to deal with the portal or NILs when they started and both had more time. Ridiculous to even compare. Whatever Brohm did to elevate the program he has trashed. The posts are in the archives of this forum. It will take you 10 minutes to look them up! Look for a poster named Wolegib!
