With the 2 decommits (2 of our best 3) and news that Tavion Galloway was going to hit the portal I think that maybe something was made known behind the scenes about the future of this coach. Either word that he’s done OR a vote of confidence he would still be around next year. Thoughts?

Or was it just a total coincidence?

How can we not see this is a regretful decision to keep him. There is zero confidence within the program let alone the recruits.

Just a bad look.

We’re not done losing commits. Sounds like Nelson from FW is flipping to NC State.
According to my buddy. He was advised to commit by Purdue when he was catching traction with recruiting. He said they'll be others getting involved..... he's gone.

Remember my friend who visited during the Notre Dame game? He’s not interested in Purdue either

I would say that this is an indication that Walters is staying. I think the true indicator is our current players. We have had current players that have left or were done for the season for "personal reasons" or injuries that did not seem that serious. We have Galloway leaving now. These players know the toxicity of the locker room and program. I am sure that this is getting out to recruits that had committed to us now.

During a recent press conference over the last couple of weeks, I think it was last week, Walters was talking about using the NIL to get transfers to come in and how that seemed to work for IU. He could be talking game about this, but I would say that statements like that have had to be made with some sort of talk with him and Bobinski. We are going to use that money to bring in some more SEC talent from TX and GA?

Football is just not a priority with Bobinski or the BOT. With Bobinski having a contract through 2028. we are probably in the basement for several more years. That is just my opinion. I really hope I am wrong.

Thank goodness for basketball. I hope we have Painter around for the next 10-15 years.

The good news is, once you’re down to the #92 ranked class, you can’t fall much further.
What's sad is FW is in your back yard. The word coming out of Traction is that he originally built great relationships and players were excited with Purdue being close to home.

Now, he has lost even the close to home recruiting with underrated recruits. Walter's hole is deep.

If he is going to be retained, wouldn't Bobinski have already made that announcement? Not sure why, but I think he is waiting until after the Indiana game to either make or announce a final decision. God help the Boilermakers if he is retained. Whoever is the coach year is going to have a very difficult year to right the ship.

Quite the blunder. Basically all public appearances and word has leaned to us keeping him. If we weren’t, the word should have gone out LONG ago.

This has been beyond bungled and the decision isn’t even public yet.

Guys it’s fine. We’ll fire Walters and hire a coach that will bring 13 ready made players along with him.
No, we’ll just let all the good players leave and use our massive NIL that alums are going to throw at these loser coaches and refill the roster!

The whole athletic department is delusional!

Walters should have been out after MSU..at the latest. NW would have been a good time too. These guys are gutless!

Not if u can get a decent coach that brings his staff and players like Cig did.

Who knows really what is going on behind the scenes. Some direction from the athletic department would at least let people make decisions on their futures. Players, Fans and Coaches. Here is what Co-pilot says.

"Athletic departments may remain silent on firing decisions to manage public relations and avoid unnecessary speculation or backlash from fans, players, and stakeholders. Additionally, they often need to consult with legal and human resources before making any announcements to ensure compliance with policies and to protect against potential lawsuits."

Anyone who follows this program would be an idiot to let their kid come here, if they have any other decent options.

NObody with high major offers should even consider this train wreck. NIL $ has nothing to do with it. Who wants to be coached by this unproven, gimmicky, sub standard coach and get your ass handed to you 10 or 11 times a year. Good luck getting anybody but washed up or unproven coordinators to get in line for a one year gig that will just make you unmarketable after the inevital happens at the conclusion of next season.
