I like the three pickups, we have come a long way from the grim outlook suggested by doomsayers (not me!) at the start of summer when we had 0 commitments
Eric Hunter - ESPN 4*. Widely regarded as our top guard priority (also top priority for Butler). Also beat out Ohio State, Xavier, IU, for his signature. Will be a top 100 recruit by the time he enters college. A high IQ, smooth scorer in the Etwaun and Cornell mould
Trevion Williams - ESPN 4*. Rated as high as #54 in the country before injury. A 4 year version of Swanigan. Beat out Michigan State, Illinois, Xavier to pull him out of Michigan
Emmanuel Douwana - ESPN 4* and #87. I'll chalk him as one of our highest upside recruits in the Painter era (along with Wheeler, JJ, Jacquil).
There may well be one or two more additions, and the NCAA scandal might actually boost our leverage in this respect. Add to that there is a good chance Sasha and Wheeler gets redshirts this season to put them into the Hunter/Williams/Douwana year.....the senior-laden team of the 2021-22 season will be Painter's best team together with the 2010 and 2017 teams.
Its pretty clear this year will be an awesome year for Purdue basketball, but also the next 4 years, how great is that. The time for Painter to make his breakthrough into the EE or FF is now!
Very much looking forward to the next 5 years. What a great time to be a Boiler again after the ball/fball misery earlier this decade
