My Twitter feed had people dogging Penn State for having more draftees (8) than wins (7). That made me recall that Purdue has achieved that dubious feat at least once.
In the '73 draft, Purdue had 8 players drafted including 3 of the first 19 (Dave Butz #5, Otis Armstrong #9, Darryl Stingley #19), plus two second-rounders. Yet, the '72 team finished only 6-5 due to Bob Demoss's horrible decision to try to implement a wishbone offense, leading to an 0-3 start before he scrapped it. Plus, that team had perhaps Purdue's most productive NFL undrafted player in Gary Danielson.
