Question for those evidently more technical than me

I'm trying to insert a table into a post that I created in Excel. I've tried online HTML converters and then copying the html and using the + button to insert code. When I preview, it still shows the code. I've tried using the wrench to go to classic mode and pasting the HTML and it shows the code. If I paste directly from Excel, it comes through with poor formatting.

Anybody have any ideas?
