QB play still needs work, but miles ahead of last 3 years

No opening throw pick six, or game ending pick six. No INT to the wide open linebacker. No fumbled snaps or exchanges. That's progress, right?

I don't know if it was play calling, but Blough forced a lot of throws into the inside slant, just gunning it through defenders. Hopefully that will change next week when they open up the playbook some more. Hopefully.

He also had some overthrows and only connected on one deep pass for the TD. He needs to work on timing.

The INT wasn't a poor throw as much as a good pick by the dude from TA&M, but he has a lot of long passes to the sideline that just scream "Pick Six!" if the DB ever jumps the route.

I think the receiver coach should have a talk with Philips, needs to hang on to the ball and get on same page as QB

It's amazing what a qb coach can do. Having a different voice than the OC is huge IMO.

If Yancey would have tried as hard as the EKU defensive back did,DeAngelo would have caught it.,I am referring to the EKU interception.

Agreed, especially one that is down on the field. When was the last time we had that? Coach Zaunbrecher (sp) while Curtis Painter was still playing?

I thought the OL played well & Jones had a good game. Blough will improve, but I think Yancey needs to get more targets.

Yeah, I also thought the OL played pretty well, especially the Tackles. I know some folks were worried about that.
